How Our Network Works

Talk to a local provider

A homeowner talking with a local plumbing provider in a basement in St. Paul

Who You Talk To

Two parties are involved. First, Afghanistanblessed Plumbing, which takes your request and passes it along. Second, an independent plumbing provider in St. Paul or the St. Paul area, who contacts you and does the work.

Afghanistanblessed Plumbing does not send its own staff to your home. The provider you speak with runs their own business. They set the price, the schedule and the method.

What Happens on the Call

Expect a short set of questions:

  • What is happening? A leak, a backup, no water, a smell?
  • Where in the house is it?
  • How old is the home, and what are the pipes made of, if you know?
  • Have you shut off the water?

Your answers help the provider prepare. Then a provider who serves your area follows up. Request a callback to check provider availability.

What to Ask a Plumber

Use this list when the provider reaches you:

  • Do you serve my address? Coverage varies.
  • How soon can you arrive? Timing depends on their current workload.
  • How do you price this job? Ask whether it is a flat rate or by the hour.
  • Will I get a written quote? Ask before work starts.
  • What could change the price? Hidden damage is common in older homes.
  • Are you licensed and insured here? Requirements differ by locality.
  • Can you document the damage? This can help with an insurance claim. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check yours.

Older Homes: Mention It Early

Aging materials such as cast iron, clay and galvanized steel can fail in surprising ways. Past repairs may hide mismatched fittings. If your house is a bungalow, ranch or older frame home, tell the provider. They can bring the right parts and explain risks up front.

You Are in Control

You are never required to accept a provider. You can ask questions, compare quotes and say no. If something sounds unclear, ask again. A good provider will explain things plainly.
